Drive4Ur Community Program Benefits Foundation

Bill Dube Ford, the Seacoast United Foundation and members of the local community helped raise much-needed funds for the Seacoast United Foundation’s scholarship fund. The recent test drive event was a part of Ford Motor Company’s Drive 4 UR Community program and raised $1,940.

More than ninety five community residents test drove a Ford vehicle at the Bill Dube Ford dealership on Saturday, June 21. The dealership and Ford Motor Company pledged to donate $20 per person, with funds going toward the SUF’s scholarship fund.

To add to the fun, there was also a soccer bouncy house on site, a BBQ and soccer challenges. The Seacoast United Phantoms men's soccer team was on site signing posters and Z107 FM event broadcasted live from the event. It was truly a day for family fun!

In an effort to go further, Ford dealerships and local communities across the country have helped to raise more than $20 million for high schools and communities thanks to their hard work and partnership with the Drive 4 UR School and Drive 4 UR Community programs.

Foundation Hosts 1st Annual "Nate's Fall Classic" FootGolf Event

On Friday afternoon October 3rd, the inaugural Kick-Back Campaign was in full swing at Sagamore Golf Club in North Hampton. After the successful Jarkko Tuinomen golf tournament on Monday, the baseball department enjoyed a bit of the spotlight on Thursday and hosted their first ever Home Run Derby alongside the Team Trevor cystic fibrosis organization.

You would think that another golf tournament was in store at Sagamore Golf and you would be right, but there is a slight twist to this event. Seacoast United organized the first ever Nate’s Fall Classic, a foot golf tournament held at Sagamore’s exclusive foot golf course. Foot golf is exactly what you think it would be, golf with a soccer ball. We had over 80 players take part in the tournament and it is safe to say that the entire event was a massive success. All the proceeds for the event will go to the Nate Hardy Scholarship which helps raise funds for players’ traveling expenses.

Nate’s parents, Steve and Donna, were on hand to address the eager crowd along with Sagamore Golf’s Vice-President Ty Sanborn. Ty had this to say about the special day, “We are extremely happy with the amount of people that turned up for the first ever Nate’s Fall Classic. It looked like all the kids and parents had a great time out and you couldn’t have asked for a nice day weather-wise. Hopefully the Foundation was able to raise some funds for a very important cause.”

James Peterson, Director of Sales & Marketing, also commented on the event.

“Nate’s Fall Classic was a great day out for everyone involved. We have never really had a kid oriented charity event before and once we found out about Sagamore’s Foot Golf course there was no going back. The support we received from everyone was very special including Steve and Donna who were kind enough to stop by and say a few words. It is worth noting that Ty and his crew kindly donated all the player fees that day to the Foundation. Support from the community is the reason why we are able to do the things we do and we are very grateful.”

Foundation Hosts SONH Fall Soccer Tournament

Seacoast United Foundation was proud to partner with Seacoast United Sports Club to host the Special Olympics NH Fall Tournament. Nine teams from around the state competed in Special Olympics New Hampshire's State Soccer Tournament held on Saturday, October 4 at the Seacoast United Outdoor Complex in Epping.  The event featured 5-on-5 Unified competition and Individual Skills competition.
Storming Hawks Local Program Coordinator Holly Charron said her team - and those watching - had a great time at the event.  "The Storming Hawks were a working team.  I can't tell you how impressed I was watching them working together, passing, playing both defense and offense.  It was a great event and they were very excited to receive silver in their division," Charron said.  Congratulations to the Storming Hawks and all of the teams and individuals who participated in the tournament!
We are grateful to Seacoast United and athletes with their club teams who volunteered their time to help with officiating, score-keeping, setting up and breaking down the event.  Thank you also to the Knights of Columbus for presenting awards!

Community Grants Aid Local Programs

Seacoast United Foundation’s Community Grant Program this fall has aided the following community programs:

  • Exeter Youth Soccer Association also received $1,000 for training programs.
  • Salem Youth Soccer Association started a TopSoccer program for youth athletes with special needs in their community. Seacoast United Foundation was particularly proud to give them $1,000 and t-shirts to help with this program.

Nate's Memorial Rededicated On Veteran's Day

On Veteran's Day, the memorial next to Field 1 in Epping was rededicated in honor of former Seacoast United player and fallen US Navy S.E.A.L Nate Hardy. This past summer, members of the US Navy spent volunteer hours working on the site, installing a concrete walkway, shrubs, and trees.  Nate's parents, Steve and Donna Hardy, were present at the ceremony on November 11th as the Seacoast United Foundation presented the family with a check in the amount of $1500.  This check represented the proceeds from October's FootGolf tournament held in Nate's name to benefit the Seacoast United Foundation Nate Hardy Scholarship Fund.
